Aging Parent Planning Checklist
Helping an aging parent often involves information spread across relatives, paperwork, appointments, and household routines. Start by organizing what is already known and identifying what still needs attention.
What to organize
- Ask your parent what help they want and which people they trust to be involved.
- Create a current list of important contacts, providers, pharmacy information, and family helpers.
- Identify where important legal, insurance, identification, and household records are securely stored without copying passwords into an exposed list.
- Create a simple backup plan for transportation, household needs, communication, and caregiving responsibilities if the usual helper is unavailable.
